OEM VAS6154B is a VAG diagnostic interface for supported ODIS workshop environments. Although its name is close to VAS6154A, it must use the VCI package and firmware intended for VAS6154B. This page covers OEM VAS6154B only.
Download the correct VAS6154B package
Use the VAS6154B driver/VCI components supplied with the supported ODIS installation or the order-specific package provided for this interface. Confirm the complete product label before installation. Do not substitute VNCI 6154A Device Manager or an older VAS6154A firmware archive.
The physical interface does not include every ODIS licence, diagnostic database, certificate or online entitlement. Check the software product and workshop account separately.
How to install OEM VAS6154B
- Close ODIS and all other PassThru or VCI managers.
- Install the supported ODIS/VCI package prepared for VAS6154B.
- Restart Windows if requested by the installer.
- Connect VAS6154B directly to the computer with a reliable USB data cable for first setup.
- Open the installed VCI manager and confirm the model, serial number and connection state.
- If interface firmware synchronization is required, keep USB and power connected until completion.
- Open ODIS and select the detected VAS6154B interface.
- Run a vehicle identification and communication test before beginning coding or programming.
First setup should use USB
Complete driver detection, manager verification and firmware preparation over USB. Configure a supported WLAN connection only after wired communication works. A successful Windows connection alone is not enough: the VCI manager and ODIS must both identify the interface correctly.
OEM VAS6154B troubleshooting
- No interface in Windows: change the USB data cable/port and inspect Device Manager.
- VCI manager shows another model: stop and verify the package and hardware label before updating firmware.
- ODIS cannot connect: confirm the VCI manager detects VAS6154B, close competing managers and reselect the interface.
- Firmware update fails: restore stable USB/power and follow the recovery method supplied for this exact device.
- Vehicle communication is unstable: test by USB with stable vehicle voltage before troubleshooting WLAN.
