ODIS immobilizer adaptation is a secured online workshop procedure used during eligible vehicle, key and control-unit repair jobs. It must only be performed for the legitimate vehicle owner or by an authorized workshop. The VIN, component identity and exact requested operation must be confirmed before service.
When immobilizer adaptation may be required
An eligible guided procedure may be required after replacement of a supported immobilizer-related control unit, instrument cluster, key or other authorized component. The correct workflow depends on the brand, vehicle generation and installed hardware. Used or incompatible parts may not be eligible.
Brand-specific ODIS immobilizer service
- Volkswagen immobilizer adaptation: provide the Volkswagen VIN, vehicle details, affected component and full ODIS message.
- Audi immobilizer adaptation: confirm the Audi platform, module identity and whether the component is new or used.
- Škoda immobilizer adaptation: save the scan and verify the exact guided function before ordering.
- SEAT immobilizer adaptation: check key/component eligibility and stable vehicle communication.

Immobilizer adaptation is not Component Protection
Immobilizer adaptation, Component Protection, SFD unlocking, key adaptation and online coding are different operations. A replacement module may require more than one supported procedure, but each job should be identified and agreed separately.
