How to Download and Install JLR DoIP VCI Pathfinder Driver

Updated: 12 August 2026.

The Jaguar Land Rover DoIP VCI Pathfinder Interface is a dedicated JLR communication device for supported Pathfinder/TOPIx workflows. It is different from VNCI JLR DoIP and VXDIAG VCX SE, so each interface must use its own driver and firmware path.

Download the JLR DoIP VCI driver

Obtain the current JLR VCI software through the authorized JLR diagnostic delivery/workshop channel or the order-specific package supplied for this interface. Confirm that the package names the JLR DoIP VCI shown on the product label. Pathfinder software, TOPIx access and security permissions are separate from the interface driver.

Installation and first connection

  1. Close Pathfinder, SDD and all other VCI managers.
  2. Install the supported JLR VCI driver/manager with administrator permission.
  3. Restart Windows if requested.
  4. Connect the JLR DoIP VCI directly by USB or the supported wired method for first setup.
  5. Open the JLR VCI manager and verify the model, serial number and firmware state.
  6. Complete a required firmware update without interrupting power or communication.
  7. Open the application appropriate to the vehicle generation and select the detected VCI.
  8. Run vehicle identification before coding or programming.

Pathfinder and SDD are not the driver

The driver enables communication with the interface; Pathfinder or SDD supplies the diagnostic workflow. Select the application by vehicle coverage and official JLR guidance. An installed VCI does not provide an online subscription, security accreditation or programming authority.

Troubleshooting

  • If the manager cannot see the VCI, check the cable, Windows network adapters and Device Manager.
  • If Pathfinder cannot see a VCI that appears in its manager, close competing PassThru software and verify the selected interface.
  • If DoIP fails, prove wired driver communication first, then inspect network/firewall configuration.
  • If firmware is incompatible, use only the recovery package for this exact JLR VCI.
  • For vehicle communication faults, verify stable voltage and the OBD connection after the PC test passes.

Safety: Use battery support and a wired connection during programming. Never interrupt an ECU or VCI firmware update.
