OEM PT3G-E V2 is a Porsche diagnostic interface intended for supported PIWIS Tester III workflows. It must not use the VNCI PT3G device manager or PT4G firmware. This page covers OEM PT3G-E V2 only.
PT3G-E V2 software and driver source
Use the PIWIS/VCI components supplied for the OEM PT3G-E V2 and the supported PIWIS III environment. The interface driver, PIWIS software release and PPN/online access are separate items. Do not install firmware copied from VNCI PT3G or a PT4G unit.
Installation steps
- Confirm the PT3G-E V2 label and close PIWIS.
- Install the supported PIWIS III environment and its PT3G VCI components.
- Connect the interface by the supplied wired method for first detection.
- Verify the interface identity and communication state in the PIWIS VCI function.
- Complete a required interface update without disconnecting power or data.
- Restart PIWIS if requested and recheck the VCI status.
- Connect to the vehicle with stable battery support and perform identification.
PIWIS III updates
Official Porsche support information distinguishes PT3G SD-card/online update workflows from PT4G online updates. Keep the tester connected to external power and never interrupt a release installation. Registration and account requirements must be completed separately where the official workflow requires them.
Troubleshooting PT3G-E V2
- If PIWIS does not list the interface, check its wired connection and VCI components.
- If an update loops, confirm the PIWIS release and PT3G package belong together.
- If online update is unavailable, verify tester registration, account access and network separately.
- Never attempt recovery with VNCI or PT4G firmware.
- If vehicle identification fails, confirm VCI detection and vehicle voltage first.
